Project Overview

Scope (2008):

1.4km 150mm and 250mm diameter cement lined ductile iron water mains

Scope (2010):

1.1km 150mm, 200mm and 250mm diameter cast and ductile iron water mains

Issues & Objectives:

• + 40 year old water mains installed in a corrosive soil
• Many leaks and breaks over the last few years
• Restore structural integrity

Work Method:

• Cleaning and drying
• Projections of NSF61-5 fast set polymeric resin
• Thickness designed according to ASTM-F1216 Standard
• Pre and post video inspections
• When needed, drill-open service lines from inside main

Project Benefits

• Water main structural reinforcement
• Prevent leakage and breaks
• Flow / pressure increase
• Add several decades of service life
• Deposits and sediments will not attach to the liner
• Reduced flushing and maintenance activities
• Service lines connection are well sealed
• Eliminate internal corrosion and prevent build-up
